Newsflash

Student Support Services & Talent Search

Two clients, Lamar Institute of Technology and College of the Mainland, will submit two Student Support Services proposals in the forthcoming competition.  Sydnors and Associates were major contributors to these proposals. Sydnors and Associates are available to assist with a limited number of Talent Search applications.  The U.S. Department of Education has indicated that it will hold the Talent Search competition in 2010.  See TRIO Program.  It is not too soon to begin work on this key TRIO program that helps numerous low-income, first-generation students go to college.

Working with Precinct2gether

Precinct2gether, the non-profit arm of Harris County, Texas, Precinct 2, has contracted with Sydnors and Associates to help secure funds for the Senior Citizens Travel Voucher Program and the Stars Project.  The Senior Citizens Travel Voucher Program provides free riding vouchers to low-income seniors who have no other means of transportation for their medical and social services.  This program receives no tax dollars and is supported by denotations and funds from foundations.  The Stars Project is a very large economic development project focusing on tourism, identification, restoration, and preservation of the San Jacinto Historical District, and making the Ship Channel area more appealing to maritime and green industries.
